Introduction to Publishing with Quarto

This course provides an introduction to scientific and technical publishing using Quarto. We will cover the basic syntax of Quarto documents, including R/python code chunks, selected formats (pdf, presentations and websites), customization options. Additionally, we will discuss ways to leverage agentic assistance (e.g. via Claude Code) in the creation and editing of Quarto documents. By the end of the workshop participants will: - Understand the basics of the Quarto publishing framework and related tools including pandoc, knitr, jupyter, typst, LaTex and markdown - Render pdf and html outputs using Quarto with format templates (e.g. Typst, LaTex and revealjs) - Set up and render a Quarto website with multiple webpages, navigation bar and search - Understand how to access, install and personalize AI skills for Quarto.
